The priority for YC Hertfordshire, Hertfordshire County Council’s youth service, is targeted prevention and early intervention to ensure that young people get the help they need early and to reduce the necessity for higher cost specialist intervention.

The Service enables young people to succeed by providing high quality informal education opportunities to promote their personal and social development.  It supports young people who are challenged in education, their communities or home life to ensure a successful transition to adulthood.

You will manage a small team of youth support workers and volunteers to plan, deliver and evaluate engaging and educational group-work programmes.  You will also work one to one with identified young people to address specific issues and enable them to access projects and programmes.  You will need to have paid or voluntary experience of working with young people.

Communication and IT skills are essential as you will be required to record data on management information systems and communicate with a range of young people, colleagues and partner organisations.

You will need to be able to travel daily across the district / borough and at times across the county.
