We are seeking a talented and highly skilled individual to join the YourCare retail team as Customer Care Advisor, providing advice, guidance, and equipment demonstrations to customers, in person, by telephone or online.
CES operates within the Croydon Council as a stand-alone commercial business competing against other private sector providers.
The Community Equipment Service provides a vital service to residents, enabling them to maintain their independence at home. Through commercial contract partnerships with other local authorities we enable over 100,000 deliveries a year of essential pieces of health and social care related equipment. We are proud of our track record in delivering innovative commercial solutions which provide cost savings to ten local authorities, enabling resources to go further.
We have an exciting vision for future growth in our business plan delivering year on year commercial growth for our business. Our key development areas include new commercial contracts with public sector organisations and the development of a nationwide retail equipment & services business, YourCare (Croydon) Ltd.

The successful applicant will be expected to carry out shop sales transactions, use the electronic ordering system to arrange deliveries and collection of equipment and adaptations, and daily monitoring of the ecommerce website.
The post holder will also need to demonstrate a high level of flexibility and adaptability as this role requires shift and weekend working.

Effective communication and numeracy skills
Experience of working within a demanding office/retail environment
Be a proactive and well organised individual with a meticulous approach to their workloads
Good personal organisation and time management skills
Ability to sensitively and appropriately address difficult situations
Good computer literacy skills and be proficient in Excel and Word and web based applications
The post holder will report to the Retail Development Lead and act as a first point of contact for staff, service users and members of the public.
Previous experience of working in a retail environment
Previous experience of working with Sage
