We have a vacancy within our department. Look to apply now and become a valued member of the Specialist Services Team – Environmental Protection, helping South Somerset to be a place where businesses flourish, communities are safe, vibrant and healthy and residents enjoy good housing and cultural, leisure and sporting activities.                           

We are seeking an experienced and qualified Environmental Health professional to assume responsibility for a varied caseload working as part of our specialist team. 

You need to be committed to delivering excellent customer focussed service, the main duties of the post will include environmental permitting, nuisance, private water supplies, contaminated land and air quality. 

You will have a degree (or equivalent) in Environmental Health or be qualified by strong relevant professional experience. Excellent communication skills are essential and experience in environmental protection work is desirable but of most importance is the attitude and approach that you bring to protecting the health of our local residents and working with our businesses to ensure compliance. 

The successful candidate should be an excellent team player who is experienced, enthusiastic, self-motivated and able to manage their own workload, work under pressure to deadlines and use their own initiative with minimal supervision.

A full driving licence will be required for the post.
