£69,855 to £79,006 per annum for 36 hours per week based at County Hall, Penrhyn Road, Kingston Upon Thames, Surrey KT1 2DN. Please note that Surrey County Council's headquarters, where this role is currently based, will be relocating back into Surrey in 2020 to support our Community Vision 2030.

We are looking for an exceptional, forward-thinking candidate to drive the development and delivery of a significant transformation portfolio across the council (and its partners), whilst reducing costs, increasing efficiency and ensuring our services meet the needs of residents and service users.

You will lead the Place portfolio and be responsible for its successful delivery by coordinating a number of critical programmes and projects enabling project managers to deliver to the best of their ability. The place portfolio includes elements such as; economic growth, transport, waste and climate change.
We are therefore looking for people who are have relevant experience and understanding of the challenges across these complex areas, together with excellent communication and interpersonal skills, influencing and motivational skills, the ability to work collaboratively with a broad range of stakeholders and confidence to challenge the status quo and create joined up solutions.
The role is as much about navigating and fostering relationships as it is about delivering the portfolio of work. We need people who think strategically, can "join up the dots", challenge current thinking and develop creative solutions to difficult issues while looking ahead to our future ambitions and vision.
