We are looking for an experienced and qualified Environmental Health Officer to join our dynamic team. You will be an enthusiastic and highly motivated individual with excellent interpersonal skills as well as sound judgement and knowledge of relevant legislation.
This post is an integral part of the Food and Safety Team, working within Environmental Health. You will carry out food hygiene inspections, carry-out complaint and infectious disease investigations, participate in sampling and undertake some port health work - taking appropriate enforcement action where required. Providing advice and guidance to our businesses will also form an important part of your work.
Due to the nature of this role, you will also carry-out a range of interventions at a variety of workplaces, under health and safety at work legislation, including the investigation of complaints, accidents and dangerous occurrences.
You will support the delivery of the team plan, including assisting other officers within the department, in areas relating to food safety, health & safety, port health, communicable disease control, special treatments and associated environmental health matters; including the preparation of any necessary reports, legal notices and briefing notes.
You may be required to produce prosecution files for offences, as appropriate, and give evidence in court when requested.
You must hold a full driving license and will require your own vehicle for business use.

Applicants for this post must hold/have the following:
- MSc, BSc (Hons) degree or diploma in Environmental Health and registered with the Environmental Health Registration Board (EHORB)
- Recent, relevant, post-qualification regulatory experience within a local authority, including food hygiene inspections, interventions and investigations
