We are looking for a Commercial Property Manager. It’s a chance to operate on a scale that you will find in few other local authorities. Our commercial and operational property asset base is valued at £537m (an increase of some £25M following commercial investment acquisitions during 2018/19) and £8.5m in annual revenue. It’s a significant platform on which the Council can build and a resource that has greatly enhanced our overall financial resilience.
You’ll work to ensure that the Council benefits from the highest standards of professional advice in relation to the management and development of its significant commercial property portfolio – balancing immediate needs with longer term strategic planning. You’ll offer expert advice to senior leadership and elected members on all property related matters ensuring we anticipate and manage risk effectively and that our decision making process is robust and well informed.
It is essential that you are a member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors with significant post qualification experience and knowledge of project management techniques. We expect that you will bring a proven track record from within the property sector with practical experience of managing a commercial portfolio. Your technical skills should be enhanced by wider leadership abilities and you will manage a small team.
