About the role

We are looking for enthusiastic and talented apprentices from all walks of life who can flourish with us here at Surrey. Our Apprenticeship scheme offers a valuable opportunity for you to gain professional experience, get excellent training, meet new people and earn a salary.

We're not focused on your qualifications or work experience, but on whether you have drive, commitment and ideas. We have already had a large number of apprentices successfully complete our Scheme and many have gone on to secure roles within the Council.

You will be working within the Safer Staffing and Onboarding who's main functions are: pay roll set up for new starters with Surrey, change of contracts for internal staff, personnel file requests and issuing ID cards for staff. You will play a vital part in supporting the team with general administrative duties, issuing ID Cards, overseeing file requests and file logging; you will also be actively involved in other aspects of the team's function.

This is a varied role and you will have the chance to make it your own, whilst we will provide you with all the knowledge and training you require to be successful. The work you do will reinforce your learning, providing evidence- based experiences to support your qualification.

To be shortlisted for interview for this position, your CV and personal statement should evidence:

  • Commitment and willingness to learn
  • An enthusiasm and commitment to continuous improvement
  • Confidence in the use of IT
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to organise and prioritise your time and workload.
