Description
£11,117.60 per annum for 36 hours per week based at County Hall, Penrhyn Road, Kingston, KT1 2DW. This position is based inside one of our main area offices, click HERE to see a 360 degree view of the building and surrounding area along with a view of the reception.
We are looking to relocate back into the county by 2020. Agile and flexible working is welcomed and supported; we care about the job you do, not where you do it.
This is a 12-15 month minimum fixed term contract and you will get 24 days paid annual leave. You will be fully supported and mentored through your apprenticeship and will be given time, whilst at work, to complete your course work.

About the role
We are looking for enthusiastic and talented apprentices from all walks of life who can flourish with us here at Surrey. Our Apprenticeship scheme offers a valuable opportunity for you to gain professional experience, get excellent training, meet new people and earn a salary.
We're not focused on your qualifications or work experience, but on whether you have drive, commitment and ideas. We have already had a large number of apprentices successfully complete our Scheme and many have gone on to secure roles within the Council.
Surrey County Council is undergoing a radical transformation programme and a great opportunity has arisen for an energetic and self-motivated apprentice to join the Safer Staffing Team within the Resources Directorate.
You will be working within the Safer Staffing and Onboarding who's main functions are: pay roll set up for new starters with Surrey, change of contracts for internal staff, personnel file requests and issuing ID cards for staff. You will play a vital part in supporting the team with general administrative duties, issuing ID Cards, overseeing file requests and file logging; you will also be actively involved in other aspects of the team's function.
This is a varied role and you will have the chance to make it your own, whilst we will provide you with all the knowledge and training you require to be successful. The work you do will reinforce your learning, providing evidence- based experiences to support your qualification.
To be shortlisted for interview for this position, your CV and personal statement should evidence:
- Commitment and willingness to learn
- An enthusiasm and commitment to continuous improvement
- Confidence in the use of IT
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to organise and prioritise your time and workload.
- Two GCSEs grade A to C or equivalent, preferably including Maths and English (you can still apply if you don't have GCSEs but you would need to completed functional skills lessons during your apprenticeship).
