To process financial assessment referrals and ensuring the correct financial assessment is completed in a timely manner.

Undertake pre-assessments by telephone or other communication methods as required.

To deal with inbound and outbound communication relating to work completed by the service, including telephones, email and letter.

To provide advice and guidance to the general public and external colleagues on charging for care services.

To support processing financial assessments, ensuring appropriate documentation is adhered to, in accordance with legislation and Council policy.

Maintain accurate records of all interactions regarding clients in the appropriate database. To obtain welfare benefit information from the Department for Work and Pensions.  To undertake the work of client records arriving into the business support team, processing electronic and manual client records, including checking consignments, entering records onto the record centre database, numbering and shelving. 

To maintain the location of records classed for pre archiving and preparation for permanent preservation in accordance to the ESCC Retention Schedule.

Provide support to business support team as required, including stationary ordering, petty cash and travel warrants.

Ensure the confidentiality of information held electronically or on paper is on accordance with departmental policy, the requirements for the General Data Protection Act 1998 and Caldicott principles and other relevant legislation
