Brighton & Hove City Council is recruiting to a Professional IT & digital role, within the Infrastructure Engineering Team.  As a multidisciplinary team supporting end to end IT, information and data services for a wide range of internal and external customers, BHCC IT&D are a strong department with skills in a range of enterprise technologies and industry-standard methodologies.

We have established close ties with East Sussex County Council and Surrey County Council through Orbis, a shared service vehicle for delivering support services to all three partner organisations.  This is an exciting time to join our team and to help to shape and influence our ambitious ‘collaborate to integrate’ plans, building on our great track record of enabling inter-team working and facilitating internal career progression.

Brighton & Hove is a vibrant, digitally innovative and connected city, at the heart of its city region and at the centre of a number of local and regional initiatives with public, private and 3rd sector partners, offering opportunities to engage with a variety of stakeholders and partners and really make a difference to people who live and work here.  We offer a flexible working scheme and modern well-appointed office accommodation in the heart of the city, close to the seafront. Flexible working technologies mean that working from other locations is also part of our working practice.

You should be able to work in a fast-paced environment and under pressure at times; Brighton & Hove is well into a multi-year programme of organisational modernisation, including renewal of core IT platforms and infrastructure, and there are many business change programmes and projects in which our IT&D team is a key partner.
