An opportunity has arisen for an experienced and highly motivated Housing Options Team Leader to lead and manage the work of Crawley’s busy Housing Assessment and Accommodation Teams. These teams are responsible for dealing with all new presentations to the Council from customers who are homeless or threatened with homelessness under its statutory duties in the provision of interim/temporary accommodation and private rented accommodation to prevent and relieve homelessness.
To be successful in this role, you will need experience of managing a team, extensive knowledge of housing law and its practical application to provide support and guidance to your team members on operational, legal and complex casework issues. Experience of carrying out s202 Reviews, dealing with Pre-Action Protocols and s204 Appeals with the ability to communicate clearly and compassionately with customers and their advocates is essential along with a proven track record of developing and maintaining effective working relationships with local partners and stakeholders.
With inspirational leadership skills, you will positively lead your team to be creative and innovative in their problem solving to achieve the best possible outcomes for our customers. You will be an experienced performance manager and communicator who will work closely with the Housing Options Manager to provide excellent services to customers and a positive and supported staff experience through training, continuous service improvement and best practice.
