An exciting opportunity has arisen for a dynamic, enthusiastic and caring individual to join the Council’s Independent Retirement Living Management Team. The Council operates five Independent Retirement Living schemes across the Borough, each of which offers secure, comfortable self-contained accommodation designed with the needs of older residents in mind.

We are looking for someone with considerable experience of working with older people and a sound understanding of issues that may affect them.

Working as part of the team you will be responsible for providing support, advice, assistance and promoting choices to enable residents to continue to live independently within their local community.

Confident and organised, you will be able to work on your own initiative to deal with difficult situations in a calm, positive and non-judgemental manner and to think clearly under pressure.

Ability to listen and communicate clearly, proactively and professionally, while maintaining positive, professional relationships with residents, colleagues and external agencies is essential.

As part of the role you will be required to participate in the out of hours on call rota for overnight, weekends and some bank holidays and therefore require a clean driving licence and access to your own vehicle. An allowance and overtime will be paid for this.

This role requires an enhanced DBS check.

If you are a committed, self-motivated person with a desire to support Runnymede Borough Council in providing valuable services to our residents, we would be keen to hear from you.

In return we offer progressive annual leave entitlement, access to the local government pension scheme and personal development opportunities, including training and access to Simply Health Care scheme after relevant period.
