The Council is looking to recruit two experienced and highly motivated Benefit professionals to join our Benefits team, to assist with providing an efficient and effective Benefits service for our customers.

The posts are offered on a full time basis of 37 hours per week.

The successful candidates must have recent experience of assessing Housing Benefit and Council Tax Reduction in accordance with the Regulations and Local Authority policies and procedures.

You will undertake assessments of new claims, reviews and changes of circumstances in respect of claims for Housing Benefit and Council Tax Reduction, and ensure that the quality and standards of your work fully complies with the Housing Benefit Regulations and the Council policies and procedures.

The ability to converse at ease with customers and provide information, advice and instruction in accurate spoken English is an essential requirement.

The successful candidates will be automatically enrolled in the Local Government Pension Scheme and will be required to obtain a Basic Disclosure.
