We are looking for an applications or purchasing specialist to take the contract management lead for the IT & Digital Applications Team. The successful applicant will ensure that the contracts for the IT business solutions we deliver are efficiently managed and maintained, and that the systems procured meet the business need, are affordable and achieve ongoing best value for the Councils' service delivery teams.
In this role you will work within the Enterprise Applications and Portfolio Group, part of the Projects and Innovation team within the Orbis IT & Digital Service. The Orbis partnership comprises of Surrey County Council, East Sussex County Council and Brighton & Hove City Council, working together to align and integrate the core functions of HR&OD, IT & Digital, Property, Finance and Procurement. The successful candidate will be based at Surrey County Council but may need to travel to Brighton & Hove and East Sussex to support customers and teams across all three partners.
Preferably you will have previous work experience in an IT contract management, IT applications or a purchasing role. You will be highly organised and efficient, taking the lead for maintaining a portfolio asset management database, tracking licensing usage and monitoring contract compliance, value for money and renewal dates. You will use your analysis and negotiation skills to support Procurement colleagues with software systems procurement and renewal activities as well as continually identifying opportunities for cost savings through improved terms and discounts, in order to achieve best value for the Orbis partners.
As important as system knowledge, is the desire to constantly learn new skills, own issues and being tenacious. There is also a requirement for excellent communications skills, an attention to detail and the ability to document and share knowledge. You will be comfortable with supplier management and confident with dealing with customer stakeholders at all levels.
