We are looking to recruit a Principal Environmental Health Officer (Food and Safety) within our Environmental & Community Protection Section. This is a key post that will lead our food safety and health and safety regulatory functions, but also take a lead role in ensuring the Council’s corporate health and safety compliance.
The role is suited to someone with previous experience in this field and current knowledge of relevant work areas and related legislation. It is also an excellent opportunity to develop your technical and supervisory skills into new areas of work. You will have responsibility for the day-to-day supervision and management of the section ensure that an efficient and effective service is provided, leading and developing the section to promote best practice and competence, not just within business premises across the Borough, but within the Council itself. Accordingly, you will provide, or work toward, the appropriate ‘competent person’ skills, experience and knowledge to enable the Council to meet its health and safety duties, and help develop relevant policies, strategies and service plans.
