The Public Protection Partnership (PPP) is one of the largest regulatory service units in the region. With over 100 staff the PPP is an intelligence led organisation delivering Environmental Health, Trading Standards and Licensing services to around 450K people over three local authority areas. As well as officers from all public protection disciplines we have our own intelligence unit, financial investigation unit and case management team of lawyers.
A vacancy has arisen for a Principal Officer within the PPP. Initially allocated to the Programme Team you will be managing a multi-disciplinary team of officers delivery a range of projects aimed at protecting and improving the lives of residents and supporting local businesses. In the future you may find yourself managing compliance or response functions. The Principal Officer roles are key to service delivery within PPP and through the tasking process you are effectively a key player in the operational management team
The successful candidate will be a qualified Environmental Health, Trading Standards or Licensing Officer. They will also need to be able to demonstrate their leadership credentials along with a demonstrative ability to innovate and translate that innovation into service delivery. You will also need to be able to demonstrate an in-depth understanding of legal framework governing investigations. We are committed to training and development and the service has its own lead officer in this respect.
This role has been identified as public facing in accordance with Part 7 of the Immigration Act 2017; the requirement to fulfil all spoken aspects of the role with confidence in English applies.
