Barnsley Council is changing; organisational transformation has helped us to be effective, efficient, high performing and sustainable. Our vision is working together for a brighter future, a better Barnsley. It’s a great time to come and work with us.
We’re looking for two people to join us as Digital Marketing Assistants. You’ll support us in our digital first journey. We want to use our digital channels to create innovative and engaging ways of telling the stories of our communities and showcasing our services to the public. Helping us to produce content for our internal and external digital channels, you’ll have significant experience in using and writing content for social media and be confident in using video making/editing equipment.
Key work areas:
- You’ll draft content and plans for social media platforms (under supervision), analysing our social media activity and external trends so we can keep improving and learning from best practice.
- You’ll use Content Management Systems to accurately update the organisation’s website and intranet.
- You’ll generate photo and video content using our in-house video editing equipment.
- You’ll keep the team informed about relevant communications and marketing activity happening in other public sector organisations, recommending how we can use this to develop our campaigns.
We’re looking for people with a level three qualification or equivalent in a marketing/communications related discipline.
