An exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and motivated librarian to join the North Somerset libraries team based in Weston-super-Mare Town Hall.

 

This is a varied and interesting job in a small team. You will take responsibility for service delivery and lead the development of the library outreach team and the Bookstart programme, and use your professional expertise to develop library services for families across North Somerset. A key role will be to lead delivery of the annual summer reading challenge for children.

 

We are looking for someone with a good understanding of the role of libraries within the community, who enjoys working with people. You will need to be adaptable, a good communicator and able to solve problems and come up with innovative solutions. You will have experience of managing others, demonstrate an ability to deliver excellent customer service and have good ICT skills, with the ability to manage and organise your own work. You must have significant experience of working in libraries or related services, and should have achieved an approved relevant professional qualification. You will be expected to work towards becoming a chartered member of CILIP.
