Need a new home?
Then we need you to help us deliver ours!
At Ashford we do things differently and lead from the front! Not only corporately, where we are delivering an unparalleled level of regeneration through economic investment, but in our ever-strong service areas too.
The national political spotlight continues to be on the delivery of affordable housing. Here, we feel that we lead the way with our award-winning housing schemes for older people, and those with learning and physical disabilities. The 2019 Kent Housing Group Awards feature one of our projects and three staff in its shortlists! Our affordable housing delivery plan has just been endorsed by our Cabinet members too, setting out how we will play our part in tackling the national housing crisis.
Our development team is a small but now expanding part of the housing service. We bring people together:
- internally, to make sure we think holistically about what we build, where we build it and how we’ll manage and maintain it in the future, and
- externally, where we are proud to work closely with the registered providers (RPs) who serve our borough, helping them to bring forward developments and to ensure they can acquire section 106 opportunities more readily
You’ll be working closely with the two existing members of the team to not only add to our existing housing stock through new builds, but by buying properties that may be available on the open market, or former right to buy homes. As well as adding to our stock, you’ll be helping to make the best use of it by encouraging mutual exchanges and ensuring that all of our tenants, including those with more complex needs, have homes that are appropriate for them.
We are very proud of what we do and how we do it. Want to be part of that? Then we’d love to meet you.
