We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic individual who is committed to assisting with the delivery of the housing advice / homelessness function as part of the Council’s Strategic Housing Service

 

You will play a key role in the delivery of a front line housing advice and homelessness service provided by the Housing Options Team in accordance with the Council’s policy and procedures. The successful applicant will occupy a key position within this small specialist team, and will often be the first point of contact between the Council and its customers. You will be required to have a working knowledge of housing options and/or welfare benefit advice.

 

You must have experience of dealing with customers in a front facing environment along with experience of routine administration systems with the ability to interpret basic written correspondence. You will also be required to monitor and provide statistical information on a monthly / quarterly basis and have excellent verbal communication and listening skills along with the ability to remain calm in what can sometimes be a stressful situation.  

 

You should hold GCSE’s at Grade C or above (including English) or be able to demonstrate equivalent vocational experience.

 

In addition you should have working knowledge of Microsoft Office packages such as Word, Excel and Outlook in order to complete departmental statistics.
