We are looking for dynamic, adaptable AMHPs who are committed to ensuring the provision of high-
quality Mental Health Act assessments, with proven ability to accurately assess individual’s
circumstances and develop appropriate plans. You will also act as duty triage AMHP for the team as
required, participating in the new duty rota and responding effectively to referrals and enquiries,
and the ability to work as part of a team is essential.
We regard it as vital that you continue your own professional development as an AMHP, we have a
dedicated training and an induction programme, offering regular AMHP refresher training including
legal updates. There will be opportunities for you to participate in policy meetings and to act as a
practice assessor for new AMHP trainees undertaking the University of Birmingham AMHP course.

Our new service design will go live in January 2020. The new service will be a hybrid model with a
team of substantive staff working on a 24/7 rolling rota basis (see attached) alongside a daytime rota
of AMHPs with substantive posts in other teams across health and social care.
