The team were externally assessed against the Public Sector Internal Audit Standards (PSIAS) in 2018 and received the highest opinion category.
The Shared Internal Audit and Investigation Service is integral to ensuring that these authorities meet their commitments by providing an integrated Internal Audit and Corporate Investigations Service, which is designed to add value, improve both Councils’ operations and minimise risk, whilst also being proactive in the prevention and investigation of corporate fraud and irregularities.
As an Audit and Investigation Specialist, you will ideally have an understanding of both audit and investigation activity, undertaking assignments across all the Council’s services whilst working within Statutory, Council and Government guidelines. You will also provide support to develop specialist advice within the team.
The Shared Audit and Investigations Service have two additional client Local Authorities currently, so there is an opportunity to work across four organisations.
The successful candidate will need to hold a relevant qualification, or equivalent experience in the area of Internal Audit and/or Corporate Investigations and possess the skills and knowledge as stated in the Role and Person Specification.
