We are currently seeking an Accountancy Assistant to join the Accountancy team based at our Civic Centre in Addlestone, Surrey.
This is an excellent opportunity to work for a professional and friendly organisation. This is a varied role including, but not limited to, assisting in the budgetary control process, maintaining records of borrowing and investments, calculation and billing of leasehold service charges and monitoring all expenditure debited to the Council’s bank account. Although reporting directly to the Senior Accountant, you will give wider support to the accountancy section, and on occasions colleagues in the Housing Department, therefore good verbal communication skills and a friendly and positive attitude are required.
You will be responsible for managing your own workload and will need to possess good numeracy skills, be highly organised and be competent in dealing with difficult situations, with the confidence to work effectively both independently and as part of a team. Previous experience of working in a finance environment would be beneficial.
