About the role

This is an exciting opportunity to join Surrey's award-winning Contact Centre team.
Established in 1999, the Contact Centre is the front door to the main services provided by Surrey County Council (SCC) and is responsible for handling the vast majority of the organisation's initial contacts, thereby making it easier for customers to contact SCC and have their enquiry efficiently resolved.

SCC's Contact Centre has an excellent reputation across the Customer Services community, working closely with the Web Operations Team to ensure that full information is provided on the Councils website. Customers recently rated 94% of the service provided by the Contact Centre as "good" or "very good".

We are the central point of information for the residents of Surrey, so you will support staff to answer a wide and interesting range of enquiries by telephone, email and social media.
As the Service Support assistant, you will report to a Contact Centre Supervisor. You will undertake a range of administrative and telephone screening duties enabling contact centre staff to focus on in-depth queries from members of the public. The Admin Hub plays an important role supporting the work of the Contact Centre by dealing with incoming post; inputting information onto a variety of databases; screening calls from residents and other organisations; keeping records up to date; despatching post; ordering leaflets; processing applications and issuing letters.

We're interested in talking to people who:

• Have experience of general office duties;
• Pay attention to detail and accurately record information;
• Are willing to positively manage calls
• Are willing to undertake a variety of administrative tasks;
• Are comfortable working with computers;
• Like being part of a team.
