BARROW BOROUGH COUNCIL
DIRECTOR OF PEOPLE AND PLACE
(Plus essential user car allowance)
(Relocation package available)
Barrow-in-Furness is the very definition of a hidden gem. With a unique mix of industry, culture and commerce, not to mention our stunning coast and historic hinterland, we’re embarking on a programme of fundamental change that will position us to meet the challenges of the future. This new full time role will complete the leadership team, working with our recently-appointed Chief Executive and Director of Resources to deliver a focused, agile and responsive service to residents, businesses and visitors alike. It’s a chance to shape new approaches to a range of business-critical services, bringing your experience and innovation to bear on an organisation that’s committed to a greater focus on customers and community engagement.
Candidates will be ready to take on a visible leadership role, accountable to members, partners and residents for making things happen. We’re not looking for a particular professional profile, but local government experience is desirable. Your ambition and innovation needs to be paired with a practical, ‘what-works’ track record, and you need to understand how to drive and embed real change in lean organisations.
Visit www.barrow-dpp.co.uk to find out more or contact Steve Guest at Solace in Business for a confidential discussion on 020 7976 3311.
The successful candidate will be automatically enrolled in the Local Government Pension Scheme and will be required to obtain a Basic Disclosure.
