Co-located within the Policy, Service Design and Analysis Hub, the postholder will play a key role supporting children’s Services improvement journey, to achieve the best outcomes for children.
Lewisham’s Policy, Service Design and Analysis Hub provides corporate assurance to the Council’s democratic and officer-level decision-making processes. The Hub is responsible for a wide range of statutory government returns and mandatory ones that influence government decision making. To achieve this, the Hub develops and designs policy and performance management frameworks, drives improvement activity and monitors adherence to statutory, regulatory and corporate standards
The post holder will be expected to have schools experience and SQL database skills. The person will need to develop and present reports that will inform support activity and decision making at all levels.
This post is being offered on a 1 year temporary contract.

What we’re looking for
We are now looking to appoint a dynamic, energetic and enthusiastic individual to the team. This is a unique opportunity to undertake a varied role to provide leadership, support and drive service improvement working in tandem with key local stakeholders such as the children’s social care, LSCB and Public Health.
As part of the role, you will lead on research, analysis, problem solving and trouble-shooting. Co-ordinating with a range of stakeholders, to deliver innovative business solutions using data and evidence. Ability to design dashboards for monitoring and decision making purposes. Develop integrated and joined-up approaches to service delivery.
To fulfil the requirements of this role, you will need experience of complex queries, using SQL and in-depth understanding of relational databases. You will also need a comprehensive understanding of service improvement as well as experience of multi-agency partnership engagement. In addition, you will need a strong track record of delivering analytical solutions to managers based on operational and data from a variety of sources. You will have the ability to build strong and productive relationships.
The successful applicant will be disciplined, committed and dedicated with the enthusiasm to transform the way local government and public services work.
