Central Stocks Unit, Welwyn Garden City £22, 462 - £24,799 pa (pro rata for part time)
37 hours per week
As Facilities Support Officer you will manage the performance of the van delivery network and drivers to ensure the timely delivery of stock and other items. You will have strong team management skills with experience in leading and actively managing team performance.
Working with libraries, Herts Property and external suppliers, you will agree repairs and maintenance priorities ensure the effective operational support for these, and for refurbishment projects. You will identify training for Library & Heritage Services staff around Health & Safety and property management, to ensure a consistent level of knowledge and good practice. You will also ensure the effective development of service continuity and emergency plans for Library & Heritage Services.
The successful candidate will have experience in managing a building and will act as site manager for the Central Stocks Unit. They will have an understanding of the operational requirements of the frontline library service, and knowledge of current health and safety policies.
As the successful candidate you will be able to communicate effectively with staff and external suppliers. You will be organised, able to prioritise and deliver to deadlines. You will be calm under pressure, have excellent problem-solving skills, flexible, and able to cope with constantly changing priorities.
The ability to make site visits to libraries, sometimes at short notice, is required so immediate access to a car is essential. Working times will normally be office hours Monday to Friday, though occasional working outside office hours may be required.
