Building Surveying Technician

Places Directorate

Permanent, Full Time – 37 hours per week

Grade 4, Salary Range £19,554 to £21,116

The role

This role is the entry point to the Building Surveyor Career Grade (currently being finalised), and represents a fantastic opportunity to work towards becoming a qualified Building Surveyor. You will support the management of a portfolio of property on behalf of the Council, working alongside qualified Building Surveyors and within the wider Property Services team. The role includes project management of repair, maintenance and improvement works to a portfolio of corporate property assets.

What we need from you

Enthusiastic and motivated, you have strong communication skills and are comfortable working with colleagues at all levels of the organisation as well as contractors. You will have experience in a property-related field, and a keen interest in construction, project management and surveying tasks. An understanding of budgetary control is key, as is the ability to work independently and effectively prioritise your workload.
