A great opportunity has arisen to join us at North Somerset Council as a Safeguarding and Reviewing Manager. The existing post holder is reducing their hours so this will be a job share.
The Safeguarding and Reviewing Manager role is crucial for the maintenance of a system to ensure that reviews of Children Looked After and Child Protection Conferences are completed within statutory timescales. We are looking for someone who will perform a high standard quality assurance role in terms of the impact and standard of practice in meeting the quality standards laid down by the department.
A key element of the team is to quality assure case work and provide management oversight that is demonstrably robust and challenging. We are looking for someone to lead on this and drive it forward. This includes monitoring of social work standards and recommending best practice within the profession to ensure good, consistent and effective practice in line with statutory, departmental and inter-agency standards, in order to achieve consistently high quality outcomes for children, young people and families.
To be a successful member of our Service you will be a qualified Social Worker and HCPC registered; suitably experienced and committed to achieving best outcomes for children, young people and families. You will receive close supervision and support, and benefits from working for an authority which is fully committed to ongoing training and career progression.
This post is exempt under the provisions of the Rehabilitations of Offenders Act (Exceptions) Order 1975 and is subject to an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service check.
