Lancaster City Council is recruiting to a number of exciting new posts to work at the award-winning Salt Ayre Leisure Centre. The centre is undergoing major redevelopment and we need highly motivated, enthusiastic and dedicated individual to join our great team

This is a fantastic opportunity for the right person to join an enthusiastic and passionate catering team at the award winning Refuel Café at Salt Ayre Leisure Centre.

We are looking for an experienced Catering Assistant who is looking for their next challenge to join our expanding team. The successful candidate will have experience in working in a busy kitchen environment, with the ability to work under pressure and deliver great food. The successful candidate will be a highly motivated person who is prepared to go the extra mile and deliver excellent customer service.

You must be able to prepare fresh dishes for an exciting and diverse range of customers in a fast paced kitchen and to a high standard. It is essential that you understand and can implement the safer food, better business legislation and you are familiar with stock rotation, control and ordering. 

You will based at Salt Ayre Leisure Centre and the hours of work will be 15 hours per week, working Saturday and Sunday based around the café opening times; 8:00am to 7:00pm

Earlier this year Lancaster City Council unanimously declared a climate emergency and will therefore work towards reducing carbon emissions to net-zero by 2030. As part of this role, you will be expected to participate and work towards reducing carbon emissions.
