Achieving Personal Goals
Our Staff share a personal goal; to encourage every client to take part in activities which will: build on existing skills, improve social inclusion and promote mutual respect. We place our clients at the centre of what we do and provide activities which follow their individual person centred plan. Each client’s needs and aspirations are our first priority. We aim to improve their sense of wellbeing and happiness through their own personal goals whilst respecting the views of parents and care .
This is a full time role but would consider part time applications.
We are looking for new people to join this committed staff team
You will have worked with people with learning disabilities for at least two years; who are able to design and deliver a variety of training and development programmes. For example current activities include Drama, Sports and creative sessions which include cooking, painting and other life skills.
It is essential that you are able to drive a minibus; training will be given, as many of the activities occur outside of the Centre.
Each activity has at its heart the intention to provide a session which enhances the enjoyment experienced. Where appropriate there will be a ‘wow’ factor to an activity, for example, recently the ‘clients in the Sports Activity Group’ climbed and crossed over the roof of the O2. This experience was exhilarating . Activities like bowling, BOCCIA, swimming, Rugby , Trampolining and Cooking all of which provide opportunities for client engagement. The client experience, however, starts from the moment they become ‘a group’ on the Minibus, the scenery they pass provides a different perspective, they are encouraged to notice the usual and the not so usual scenery they pass on their way. Finally, they undertake the session activity which can provide the opportunity to improve fitness, social skills, community interaction which leads to increased confidence. Clients can also develop their competitive side whilst respecting one another.
If you have the enthusiasm and the competency to deliver part of these activities you will be rewarded by becoming part of a cohesive and dedicated team, as well as special appreciation from the clients you would be working with.
