We are looking to recruit to two vacant Team Managers positions in our Selly Oak and Northfield Safeguarding Teams. Both Teams are based in the South of the City.
You must be an experienced social worker, with management experience, who shares our vision for improving the services we offer, and pulling our standards up to the highest levels.
We are delivering on ambitious plans for change; but with supportive management, sensible caseloads and the potential to control your own workload and career progression, this is an exciting opportunity.
You will be at the helm of everything our dedicated staff are trying to achieve for Birmingham’s most vulnerable children. The young people referred to us are in urgent need of intervention and support, so you will guide your colleagues to complete thorough assessments of their situation, acting quickly to find suitable measures that will keep them safe. This means you will have to make some difficult decisions about the children we are responsible for, but with the tools at your disposal to offer them a good quality of life; these decisions need to be made.
You will also be responsible for overseeing the quality of service being offered by your staff, so you will supervise their work and maintain the appropriate legal, regulatory and statutory standards.
WHO WE’RE LOOKING FOR
We are looking for someone who has working knowledge and experience in a similar environment; who is also competent and confident when making tough decision quickly and efficiently; as well as being fully accountable for the actions of their team.
You must also have supervisory experience and have successfully promoted a culture of change in your previous role.
With a Diploma in Social Work (or equivalent) under your belt, and registration with the Health Care Profession Council; you must have the practice experience and working knowledge to be fully responsible for the actions of your team.
Working closely with your team, agency, and partners you will build an innovative environment where your staff are inspired and motivated to always achieve more.
Good financial management, excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to digest and interpret complex reports are also essential.
