The Assistant Service Manager will manage a team of drivers and operatives across various waste streams and will be expected to provide resilience on a contingency basis as required across the full span of the service offer. With experience of managing front line/logistically-based services, you will support the development and mobilisation of the new core service operating model working in partnership with a range of key stakeholders to modernise service delivery ensuring the right service is delivered at the right time and place with a strong focus on improved outcomes for customers, residents and communities. You will provide support to ensure the new operating principles are embedded in front-line practice whilst ensuring that the service remains agile and able to respond to emerging priorities through the adoption of a risk-based approach.

You will have excellent communication and negotiation skills and have experience of effectively managing the performance of operational teams.
