We have an exciting opportunity for a highly organised and motivated Youth Violence and Exploitation Worker to join a new multi-disciplinary team within the integrated Youth Support Service The main objective for the post holder is to engage and provide targeted interventions to young people aged 16-24 who are entrenched in, or are at risk of becoming involved in youth violence and exploitation. In addition to your ability to develop meaningful relationships with vulnerable young adults, you will have the ability to develop dynamic and creative plans and assessments that will enable these young adults to grow and develop. Additionally you will provide information and advice to other professionals and key stakeholders about the resources and services available to young people and young adults in Camden in relation to exploitation, youth violence, and prevention and associated issues such as substance misuse, mental health and contextual safeguarding risks.

This post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act and will require an Enhanced DBS.

About you

To be considered for this vacancy it is essential the successful candidate holds a relevant professional qualification in either Youth & Community Work, DipHE/Degree

Social Work, Probation Degree (or educated to at least to NVQ level 3 alongside experience in a fieldwork setting) or possess substantial equivalent experience working with vulnerable young people and young adults in this or a related field. You will possess a wide range of experience of working with challenging young people and adults involved in the criminal justice system and their families with the ability to evidence a ‘what works’ practice base. Then successful candidate will have previous demonstrable experience of managing risk and vulnerability in youth and adult justice settings and of working with young people involved in gangs and group offending. Additionally you will have extensive experience undertaking needs assessments and developing a holistic package of support based on identified needs and using the Lead Professional and Camden’s Resilient Families Framework approach.
