A superb opportunity has emerged for a Housing Solutions Lettings Manager to join Thurrock Council to provide maternity cover on a fixed term basis.
The successful candidate will lead a team of Allocations and Housing Registrations Officers to deliver an excellent service to residents applying to join the Housing Register.
You will manage the Allocations Team to implement the updated policy, ensuring the service provided is excellent and compliant with legislative, corporate and best practice requirements by:
- Displaying "role-model" behaviours while coaching and monitoring the officers, ensuring the Service is dynamic and effective
- Be responsible for the effective operational delivery of all of the Council's rehousing options, promoting options across all tenure types offered by the Council ensuring compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements and the Council's allocation policy.
- To ensure offers of Council and Housing Association accommodation are made in a timely manner and to individuals eligible for properties in line with legislation and the Council's policies and procedures.
- To ensure the co-ordination of all registration and lettings activities, so that social housing is correctly allocated, and that levels of demand and available stock are managed to satisfy legislative and operational parameters including minimising rent loss.
We are looking for a candidate with a range of skills including developing innovative housing solutions for vulnerable individuals and families, experience in partnership working and commissioning of housing services.
As a team manager you are required to have a strong knowledge of the homelessness and Allocations environment, law and best practice. You will also be a key representative of Thurrock Council at local and national level forums, attending and presenting at conferences, seminars and working parties as may be required.
