Brighton & Hove City Council’s Housing Department have an exciting opportunity for a level 3 apprentice in Business Administration. The Department is responsible for all aspects of council housing across Brighton & Hove City.
The Business Administration at level 3 is run by GBMET College who is responsible for supporting you with your learning and carrying out training and assessments. The course has core modules to complete and a number of optional units. Your work experience will be linked to the modules and units in your course. You will receive additional support from a nominated mentor, throughout the duration of the Apprenticeship.

About the role
Apprentices will gain knowledge in:
The Business Support Team support our front line operations in order to deliver greater value for our council, tenants and customers.
Simultaneously undertaking a comprehensive study programme towards the Level 3 apprenticeship qualification, you will gain valuable knowledge, first-hand experience and skills in:
Facilities management – ensuring buildings and equipment are compliant in Health and Safety legislation, keeping staff and visitors safety foremost in everything we do.
Financial administration –cashiering, reconciliation of petty cash accounts, stock control and processing of invoices.
Administration – producing accurate records, drafting documents & record retention.
Customer service – working on a frontline reception, responding to queries from our tenants but also working closely alongside Housing teams supporting them to carry out their role.
IT – using a wide range of IT packages and systems to input data and to look up information as well as desktop packages for producing documents, spreadsheets and emails.
Apprentices without evidence of level 2 English and Maths will need to achieve this level prior to completing training and you may be required to take an English and Maths assessment prior to a formal offer being made.

The duration of the apprenticeship will be 24 months.

Your starting salary will be pro rata if the above position is part-time or term-time only.
Work Permits: we may be able to obtain a Work Permit for this post but this is subject to meeting the requirements of the UK Border Agency's Points-based Immigration System.
