Medway Council is seeking to recruit a qualified Clinical or Forensic Psychologist within its Youth Offending Team. The candidate must have a keen interest in undertaking highly specialised clinical assessments and interventions with adolescents who present with a wide range of risks and vulnerabilities.
This is an exciting opportunity to introduce psychological interventions in a Youth Justice and Alternative Education provision setting. The post holder will need to be able to demonstrate flexibility, innovation and creativity, and an ability to develop and work within what will be a new service.
The post holder will need to have experience of, and be able to evidence, a flexible and creative approach to engaging young people and their families, delivering interventions in their homes and in the community. This post will involve the delivery of assessment and interventions in an alternative education provision setting. You will be able to work alongside YOT colleagues and partners in order to provide information to assist sentencing and subsequent intervention planning and delivery.
You will have clinical experience in providing therapeutic interventions to adolescents presenting with experiences of trauma, exploitation, loss and separation. Adolescents and who may be a risk to themselves and to others, and exhibit sometimes violent and particularly challenging behaviour.
The successful candidate will need to have excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills and be able to work well within a team environment. You will have good organisational skills and have the ability to prioritise and work under pressure.

Candidates must hold a UK recognised qualification in Forensic or Clinical Psychology and be registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC). An enhanced DBS check is required.
