Weare looking for a technical expert to assist our Contracts Team in LegalServices with a range of challenging and exciting capital projects. You will deliver high quality legal servicesin respect of contracts matters and make a key contribution to achieving theborough's objectives.

Tower Hamlets has an establishedLexcel accredited Legal Team that provides services to the Council across thefull range of its functions. We strive to provide excellent services and prideourselves on the exciting variety of high quality work that we undertakein-house. We have recently restructuredour service to increase resilience, better align with the Council’s functions,and are now looking for highly competent, enthusiastic, collaborative, and motivatedprofessionals to join the team. Flexible working is available including working from home for part of the working week after a settling in period.
You will be a Senior Lawyerwithin a team of lawyers in our busy Contracts team providing support tocentral procurement and service areas for the Council’s purchasing. The work isvaried and challenging and you will have the opportunity to broaden yourskills. You will be accustomed to usingJCT and other types of construction contracts and the provision of high levellegal advice on Contract and Procurement matters.
You will participate inmulti-disciplinary project boards and provide robust advice on some complexprojects. You will be able todemonstrate an in-depth knowledge of the legislative framework, haveexcellent drafting and analytical skills and be accustomed to working atpace.
Experience of providing advice onstate aid, local authority companies and company law will be an advantage.
You must be a QualifiedSolicitor/Barrister or Fellow of CILEX and hold a practising certificate.
