Description

Surrey Arts are always keen to hear from qualified vocal and instrumental teachers who can help us to deliver great opportunities and services to children and adults across Surrey. Our hourly rate of pay ranges from £24.41 to £28.93 per hour for individual/group lessons. Salary is pro-rata to hours worked.You should be flexible and willing to commit to working for up to 36 weeks of the year in term time. Availability during and after school hours is also essential. 

Tutors will be eligible to join the Surrey County Council pension scheme and have the option to take advantage of the car lease scheme, subject to certain criteria.

Tutors are supported by an instrumental team lead and are able to attend various Inset day/workshops throughout the year. There is constant support from a dedicated music administrator, line manager and instrumental team leads.

About the role

We are looking for motivated and committed instrumental and vocal teachers to join our thriving team of music tutors. You will be part of exciting projects, delivering group and individual lessons to children and adults at various schools and venues around the county. Surrey Arts run various ensembles around the county giving tutors the opportunity to be part of these too.

In this role you will be supported by a team of administrators who will organise your schedule and timetables, and will be in regular contact with parents, schools and yourselves to ensure the services delivered meet our high expectations. 

We are looking for individuals who:

  • Hold a recognised music diploma, degree, or other recognised qualification.
  • Possess a specialist knowledge of your instrument and is able to perform to a high standard, with a passion for continued learning and development.
  • Have excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Are aware of current initiatives in the UK music education system.
  • Experience of individual/group teaching
