Principal Planner £39,774 - £47,511 pa

We are looking for enthusiastic and highly-motivated individuals with proven planning experience to join our progressive Planning Team as a principal planner for a fixed term period of 9 months as maternity cover. This role will require you to lead on all types of Development Management projects and Spatial Planning tasks including pre-application, application and policy work. In particular the post will require you to deal with the most significant and complex major developments including all pre-application and application work associated with these.
This is a key role in the Planning Team and you will play an integral role in driving forward high quality development within the borough and effectively turn our vision into reality. We are looking for individuals who can demonstrate relevant planning experience within a high performing Local Authority. You should be self motivated, enthusiastic, able to work as part of a team and have the ability to manage a complex and varied caseload. The successful candidate will lead in contributing to the delivery of an efficient and effective Development Management service for the borough, including engagement with developers and other key stakeholders in enabling the delivery of quality developments within a robust planning policy framework.
