Your role in our journey

As Community Safety Officer, you’ll be part of an integrated team focused on the pro-active identification and early intervention of environmental crime and anti-social behaviour. We will look to you to support those people who live, work and visit Barnsley Town Centre. What’s more, you’ll facilitate active engagement and have involvement in local communities in line with community safety agendas with localised plans.

What you’ll need

To join us, you’ll need a Level 2 qualification and a full driving license including categories B + E or a willingness to obtain this. Crucially, you have experience of working in a relevant area this may include works on or near a highway and with particular focus community safety or working in a front line role. You’ll bring to the role excellent communication and relationship building with stakeholders including members of the public.
