In Adult Social Care, we want every person in Central Bedfordshire to have responsive, customer-focused care and support – making this a great place to live and work. With this in mind we are looking for a Day Support Worker to join our team to support adults with profound learning disabilities. You must have experience of working with people with learning disabilities. You will be working closely with the management/staff team to provide a high quality person centred approach whilst working as part of a team.
Our team at Linsell House are passionate about supporting service users to gain a full enriching life so our service users can fully participate in their home and surrounding community.
We are looking for a motivated and creative individual to develop and lead our day provision at Linsell House. You will be responsible for developing and implementing day activity plans/sessions with the support of the staff team. You will need to keep detailed records of daily activity sessions based on Individuals responses so that these can be used to improve the daily opportunities for the people we support. You will also need to be competent in completing Risk Assessments to ensure safety of Individuals.
You will plan and lead weekly day activity schedules that are creative and inclusive, fulfilling the needs of the people regardless of disability, racial/cultural origin or gender.
You must be confident in your ability to provide high standards of care and have excellent observational and communication skills using both verbal and non-verbal approaches
that will empower customers to make choices about how they live their life. It is essential that you have a passion and understanding for working with adults with profound learning disabilities and the ability to push boundaries to support our service users to have an enriched life.
We are situated in Dunstable, a town in Central Bedfordshire with good transport links providing easy access to the A5, M1 and train links. Only 15/30 minutes travelling time from Luton, Stevenage, Flitwick, Bedford and Milton Keynes, we are ideally situated if you are looking to commute.

•NVQ Level 3 in Social Care (England) qualified or working towards
