£69,855 to £79,006 per annum based at County Hall, Penrhyn Road, Kingston upon Thames KY1 2DN. This position is based inside one of our main area offices, click HERE to see a 360 degree view of the building and surrounding area along with a view of the reception. We are looking to relocate back into the county by 2020.
Whilst the primary base for the role holder will be in County Hall, Kingston, the work assigned could see the postholder working from any of our sites across the county and so ability to travel is a requirement of the role.

The Analytics and Insight team's mission is to work in partnership with others to turn data into actionable insight that will have a positive impact on residents' lives. We 'talk data' but in a way that gets others on board and positively influences service design and decision-making. We champion the resident voice and carry out research and applied analytical techniques to contribute to the ambitions set out in the Organisation Strategy and the Community Vision for Surrey in 2030.
About the role
The Head of Analytics and Insight will lead and inspire the team – and others across the council and wider public service system in Surrey - in developing an innovative programme of data analytics that turns data into actionable insights to better understand the needs of Surrey, inform decision making and prepare for the future.
In this role you will provide leadership and expertise across a range of disciplines – drawing on both your own and your team's strengths – including predictive analytics, customer segmentation, statistical analysis, research and behavioural insights. You'll champion data across the organisation so that the insights produced are of the highest quality. And you will lead on building and strengthening relationships with partners, to explore opportunities to share data and collaborate on analytic projects.
You will have a proven track-record of establishing a data insights programme or embedding a data-driven approach within a complex organisation. You're inquisitive, adept at explaining technical matters with clarity in a way people understand and have a passion for finding new and interesting ways of presenting data stories back to stakeholders.
You will need to be able to demonstrate an ability to work at pace, be innovative and have a genuine interest in making a difference and real change for the people of Surrey. You'll have the ability to work collaboratively with a broad range of stakeholders and the confidence to challenge the status quo.
