Independent Domestic Abuse Advisor - Community Based

The FJC, Croydon’s Domestic abuse and sexual violence service is looking to offer full time position to a highly motivated IDVA to join the team. This IDVA role will be based within the Community and will require partnership working with the Early Help service as well as other key professionals within the Community.

 

The work will include being responsible for the decision making necessary

to keep victims of DASV safe and for them to achieve positive outcomes through a good quality service. The successful candidate must be able to ensure that assessments and plans are robust, evidenced based and progressed in a timely manner in order to achieve positive outcomes.

 

The successful candidate will be required to contribute to the implementation of a whole systems approach to DASV including Increases in reported incidents of DASV and decreasing repeat victimisation. This will include undertaking high quality risk and vulnerability assessments and making appropriate referrals to MARAC.

 

The successful candidate will be required to work in partnership with the both internal and external partners providing consultations and delivering training.

 

The successful candidate must be prepared to work outside of core hours in order to meet the needs of vulnerable high risk victims. The community based role will require the successful candidate to travel across different sites and services.

This role will require you to work in a high pressured service area and work closely with the Practice and Operations Manager.

  • Able to manage expectations and ensure deadlines are adhered to
  • Able to plan and manage work under pressure and apply prioritization across different areas of work.
