LondonBorough of Tower Hamlets looking to invest in training a Pest Control Officer. The successful candidate will attend a course of study to achieve the Royal Society of Public Health Level 2 in Pest Management and have a commitment and interest in pest control..The successful candidate will then be in a position to apply for a Pest Control Officers post within the Team.
Within theEnvironment Health and Trading Standards Service there is a determination tocontinue to develop and implement technical and practical systems toproactively target pest species threatening the health of residents, visitorsand people working within the borough. The appointed officer will be expectedto fully participate and contribute to these processes.
To provide,develop and maintain a responsive and effective Pest Control Service to meetthe changing needs of Tower Hamlets’ multi-cultural community, which reflectthe Council’s Core Values. To ensure successful completion of the Royal Society of Public Health Level 2 course within one year.
You must have a broadunderstanding of Pest Control work, within residentialproperties.You will be expected to assist Pest Control Officers in carrying out their duties.
The abilityto use information technology systems and equipment, to respond effectively inpressurised and difficult situations and to deal courteously andsympathetically with all service users and colleagues, is also essential.
Postholder shall have a full, clean driving licence as they will be required todrive a Council van. Please note that a street parking permit is provided andPest Control Officers collect and return the vehicle to the Council depot foruse during working hours (Monday to Friday). You will need to have the ability to undertakeheavy manual handling work.
