The role

You will provide commercial ‘officer level’ support to the Property Management - Property Services Commercial Division.

You will be expected to develop skills and assume responsibility for a range of commercial activities including: supplier relationship coordination, purchase to pay process, bid governance reviews (including internal governance), contract management advice and support, programme coordination and management (including delivering presentations/ workshops on various processes and tools), data configuration management, completing confidential contracting duties etc.

The post holder would work towards successful completion of the Degree in Surveying and full chartered membership of the RICS. It is estimated this training programme will take 60 months after which the trainee will be qualified in one of the following six qualification pathways offered: Building Surveying, Quantity Surveying, Commercial property, Residential property, Valuation, and Project Management or alternative agreed relevant pathway.

About you

Construction:

  • Some administrative experience and possibly experience working in a construction based environment such as Housing / Property Services etc.
  •  

Finance:

  • Ability to develop good understanding of project management, cost models/business models, familiarity with accounting practices, commercial audits, forecasting and valuations.

Legal:              

  • Ability to develop a good understanding of contract terms and conditions.
  •  

General:

  • Good IT skills (Microsoft Office programmes - excel/word/power-point).
  • Good communication skills.
  • Good time management skills.
  • A genuine interest of Developing to Surveyor level whilst working within a Commercial function with the ability to develop Commercial administration skills.
  • Must be dedicated to completing the training programme and developing a career in Surveying or similar role.
