About the job
Targeted Programmes Transition team work in prioritised primary schools with those young people identified as at most risk of not successfully transitioning from primary to secondary school, delivering programmes to small groups of young people. We are looking for 2 Programme Delivery Workers to support the delivery of the programme in local schools. These are 9 hour ( 0.25FTE) posts, you would need to be available to work Monday to Friday between the hours of 09.30 and 15.30 term time and have some flexiblity with hours during school holidays. We are looking for dedicated and dynamic individuals with a demonstrable commitment to supporting young peoples transitions. The London Borough of Hillingdon has recently reshaped its Early Intervention and Prevention Services for families, and has established a new range of targeted programmes for children, adolescents, young adults, and parents who need additional support to overcome challenges in their lives and progress towards a better future.
We support family members to develop their skills, knowledge, and confidence, so that they can successfully manage life's naturally-occurring ups and downs. We do this through the delivery of informal group-based learning activities that address key family issues, and develop core family and life-management skills. Through our varied range of family-focused services - including structured learning programmes for vulnerable boys and young men, peer-led education programmes, sexual health education programmes, substance misuse education programmes, and transition support programmes for young people - we support family members to develop the competencies and confidence required to reach their fullest potential.
As a Programme Delivery Worker, you'll work within a team of practitioners delivering targeted services across Hillingdon, and have the opportunity to deliver an exciting and innovative programme offer. About the person
We're looking for dynamic and inspiring people, willing to commit themselves to the delivery of our programmes across Hillingdon. You will be outgoing, able to see the potential in everyone you work with, and be willing to deliver fun and informal activities that promote our service users' expression and learning. If you have the ability to work with children and young people, and you're a focused team player, you'll find this an exceptionally rewarding way to gain valuable skills and experience. Previous youth, play, community, teaching, counselling, or social care work experience is helpful, but not essential - it's your personality and drive that we're interested in!
