This a great opportunity to join the friendly team at Weston library at the Town Hall. We are looking for an enthusiastic Customer Services Apprentice who can demonstrate a commitment to delivering excellent customer service. The successful candidate will be the first point of contact for library information in a multi-use building.
If you are a people person with strong communication skills, are confident in the use of ICT and have an interest in books and other media then this could be the ideal opportunity for you. You will support customers with library enquiries, self-service kiosks, computers, Wi-Fi, community and children’s activities and using the North Somerset Local History Library. Duties include tidying and shelving books, routine library/clerical duties as well as using your initiative and working effectively within the team.
This position would be suitable for someone looking for their first role. The successful candidate will gain valuable experience of working within an experienced team that delivers excellent customer service to people from a wide range of age groups and backgrounds who use the library.
A half day of study is provided to enable the post holder to complete an Intermediate NVQ (Level 2) in Customer Service, delivered by Weston College. Ongoing peer support will be provided to you on a regular basis. A variety of North Somerset Council training courses will also be available to you.
The post holder may be required to work at other North Somerset Libraries.
