Hours are worked between 8am – Midnight, as directed by Community Facilities Manager each week

We are seeking a flexible and customer service focused person to join our team on a part time basis as a Duty Officer working across Runnymede Borough Council’s community halls in Chertsey and Egham/Hythe. This post holder will be required to work flexibly across both sites in order to open and close the facilities, activate and deactivate the alarms, carry out minor maintenance and prepare for pre-booked events. This will include meeting and greeting the clients on site and setting up the Hall/Rooms with tables and chairs and hired equipment according to client’s requests ahead of the events.

You will act as the first point of contact for all visitors to the halls in order to deal with any enquiries they may have, provide viewings of the facilities and give information on how to secure a hire. You may also be involved in assisting the Community Facilities Manager in the promotion of new and upcoming activities.

The successful post holder will also be responsible for all caretaking duties including cleaning all rooms, toilets, kitchens and communal facilities on site and maintain records on site of all maintenance work carried out and undertake set ups for the next day if applicable. It is therefore essential that you have an awareness of Health and Safety requirements and basic computer skills (Training may be available if applicable)

As this is a customer focused role you will need to possess excellent communication skills and have good attention to detail. You will also have the ability to prioritise and organise your workload, using your initiative to work unsupervised but also able to work as part of a wider team.

You will need to hold a full driving licence and have access to a vehicle insured for business use for travel across sites and be flexible and able to work additional hours to provide coverage as needed. You will also have the physical ability to undertake all of the duties associated with this role.
