About the role
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a full time Supervising Social Worker, specialising in the assessment and supervision of connected person foster carers, assessment and support of special guardians and assessment monitoring of private fostering arrangement in the SW Family and Friends Team based in Redhill.
The successful candidate will be part of a creative fostering service that works with the theories of trauma, attachment and loss, social pedagogy and restorative practice to ensure the best outcomes for our children.
The primary focus of the role will be assessing, supervising and supporting family and friends foster carers and special guardians. The Family and Friends Teams are also responsible for discharge of the Local Authority's responsibilities for children who are privately fostered.
Self-motivated and accustomed to working to deadlines, you will have good IT and communication skills, with experience of establishing and nurturing multi-agency relationships.
To be shortlisted to interview for this position your application will clearly evidence:
- Experience of working with children and young people and a comprehensive knowledge of legislation relating to Looked After Children and Family and Friends Care
- An ability to be able to work directly with family and friends carers and young people
- The ability to produce clear evidence based and analytical assessments
- Flexibility to work away from home and outside of the usual office hours to fulfil the role and meeting the needs of the service.
The role is primarily based within the Fostering Team in Consort House, Redhill, but you will need to be prepared to work from both Consort House in Redhill and Quadrant Court in Woking and travel countywide, therefore access to your own transport is essential.
