Salary: Band 11 - £38,813 - £42,683 p.a.
37 hours per week (but would accept applications for part-time hours)
What is the role?
You will be responsible for directly managing all financial and commercial aspects of major and/or complex projects and programmes of work as a key member of a multi-disciplinary project team.
You will also contribute to the management of the Quantity Surveying group in delivering a comprehensive quantity surveying service on behalf of the Council.
Financial Management
You will ensure effective cost control procedures for allocated projects and elements of projects/programmes without supervision and prepare accurate cost information and determine contractor entitlements.
Project Delivery
You will be responsible for client and design team liaison, contractor negotiation and programme management to facilitate the successful delivery of allocated projects within the time/cost deliverables. You will also contribute to the management of in-house and consultant quantity surveying resourcing.
Technical support
You will prepare tender documents and analyse, compile and present data in order to produce cost plans, estimates, financial reports and the like.
Procurement
You will determine appropriate contract procurement routes to ensure that contracts are undertaken in the most effective and efficient manner and contribute to the development and implementation of contract procurement strategy.
Practice Management
You will contribute and provide support to the team leader in the day-to-day management and operation of the quantity surveying group including the assignment of tasks and co-ordination of activities undertaken by other team members. You will also produce and present management information and mentor other team members where appropriate in training and development.
